PowerPhotos 2.1.3 Full macOS allows you to break up your Photos.app images among multiple Photos libraries, rather than having to store all of them in one giant library. You can easily switch between libraries, or just browse the photos in your libraries directly from PowerPhotos, without having to open each library in Photos.
This major update to a third-party Photos library manager improves de-duplication and export options while preserving its power as a complementary app. Apple has matured its Photos app for macOS substantially in the several years since the company cut the thread for iPhoto and declared Photos its new approach. The current version mostly resembles the one introduced but with everything working reliably most of the time. However, Photos still has substantial missing pieces for managing libraries.
Use PowerPhotos’ image browser to quickly view your photos without having to open Photos itself. View detailed photo information using List View, and search for photos across all your libraries at once. You can also open libraries in separate windows to easily compare them or copy photos and albums back and forth.

- When a missing referenced photo is selected, the info pane will now show the last know path for the photo instead of just displaying “Missing”.
- Made some adjustments to improve recognition of certain duplicate photos.
- Fixed a bug where exported photos would have their modification dates adjusted for time zone when they shouldn’t.
- The Contact Support window now correctly shows an error message when trying to submit a request with missing info.
- Fixed an issue where too much memory could be taken up during duplicate analysis of certain large libraries.
